Bluebirds eye Chopra swoop

Blacks Cats striker strongly linked with Cardiff return

Cardiff City's search for a proven goalscorer has led them to old boy Michael Chopra, according to widespread reports. Injuries to top goalscorer Ross McCormack and Jay Bothroyd has left Cardiff boss Dave Jones desperately short of strikers. Chopra remains a well liked figure at Ninian Park, despite leaving the Championship club for Sunderland in July of last year in a £5million deal. The return of Kenwyne Jones from injury has pushed Chopra further down Roy Keane's pecking order and it now looks as though a loan switch could be on the cards. QPR have also been linked with an approach for the 24-year-old, but if reports are to be believed it will be Cardiff who will secure his services on Thursday, via a two-month loan deal.
