Shrimpers keen to keep full-back

Southend boss Steve Tilson is hoping to extend Dan Harding's loan spell at the League One club. The full-back has been a huge hit at Roots Hall since arriving from Ipswich over the summer and has already clocked up 17 appearances for the Shrimpers. His current deal still has four weeks to run, but Tilson accepts that any decision regarding the 24-year-old's future may be taken out of his hands. "I would like Dan to stay here but at the end of the day it's going to be Ipswich's decision," he told the Echo. "He's done well for us and I've spoken to him already about his future. "If nothing happens then he would love to stay but if Ipswich decide to sell him to get a bit of money then there is nothing we can do about it."
