Luton Town have confirmed Norwich City turned down offers for Chris Martin and Michael Spillane.

Hatters hoped to sign Spillane and Martin permanently

Luton Town have confirmed Norwich City turned down offers for Chris Martin and Michael Spillane before the close of the transfer window. Martin and Spillane are currently on loan at Kenilworth Road, but the League Two strugglers tried to sign the duo permanently. However, after tabling offers for striker Martin and defender Spillane, Luton director Antony Brown revealed Norwich rejected the bids. "We held talks with Norwich," Brown told the Luton News. "We actually tabled two separate offers for both of them and both were rejected. "I think Norwich had their own problems that had to be addressed. The new manager wants the players back so he can make his own decision."

Morgan business

Meanwhile, Hatters boss Mick Harford has confirmed that Dean Morgan, who is on loan at Leyton Orient until the end of the season, will not be offered a new contract. "It's good for the football club and it's good for Dean Morgan," Harford told Luton Today. "He's out of contract at the end of the season and he won't be offered a contract here next season. "It gives him an opportunity to play some football and get himself a new deal for next year. Financially it's a good bit of business for us."
