Nottingham Forest have decided against renewing the contracts of eight of their young professionals. Richard Tait, Hamza Bencherif, Liam Hook, Tom Sharpe, Ryan Whitehurst, Adam Newbold, Emile Sinclair and Paddy Gamble have all been released at the end of their current deals. Only Newbold and Sinclair have featured for the Reds' first-team since progressing out of the academy ranks. Sinclair made 17 appearances, scoring once, but has spent the majority of the last two seasons away from the City Ground, taking in loan spells at Brentford, Macclesfield and Mansfield. Newbold made four appearances for Forest during the 2008/09 campaign, scoring against Morecambe in the Carling Cup, but struggled to leave a lasting impression. All eight of those released will join veteran defender Ian Breckin in leaving the club this summer, with manager Billy Davies now turning his attention towards next season.
