Daniel Fox remains hopeful of signing a new contract at Coventry City before the start of pre-season training.
The full-back has two years remaining on his current deal, but is eager to commit his long-term future to the Championship club.
He has made a big impact at the Ricoh Arena since joining from Walsall in January 2008 and has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
However, the 22-year-old wants to continue his progress with Coventry and is anxious to agree an extension in the coming weeks.
"It is always in the back of your mind to get it sorted out and it would be nice to get it done before the start of the pre-season because you don't want to be playing and thinking about it, you want to be carefree and not worry about things like that," Fox told the Coventry Evening Telegraph.
"If I can talk to the chairman that will be great, but it is early days yet and there are two months before pre-season, but hopefully I can get it sorted out before then and then come back with a bang.
"I want to play as many games as I did this season, if not more because I missed games through suspension.
"I am very proud of what I do and I just want to do the best I can."
