Sheffield Wednesday have been boosted by the news that experienced left-back Michael Gray has signed a new one-year contract.
The 34-year-old made 13 Championship appearances for the club last season after initially joining on loan before penning a short-term contract with the club.
The ex-Wolves, Leeds and Blackburn defender clearly impressed manager Brian Laws enough for the club to retain his services for the upcoming season.
Laws is pleased to have Gray at his disposal for the 2009/10 campaign, stating the veteran stopper is a consummate professional who is a good influence on the club's youngsters.
"I am delighted that Michael Gray has committed to the club for another year," Laws told the club's official website.
"He is a great pro and supremely fit for a player of his age and experience. Michael is an inspiration to our younger players and brings many qualities to our squad.
"Our supporters have already seen some excellent performances from Michael. He provides a calming influence on the team and always uses the ball effectively as well as providing extra ammunition from our set plays."
