Laws feels youngster fully deserves new contract

Sheffield Wednesday forward Lee Boden has signed a new two-year contract at Hillsborough. Boden was named the Owls' Young Player of the Year and has been rewarded for his progress during the past season. He undertook loan spells at Chesterfield and Rushden & Diamonds, and is delighted to be staying with the Championship club. "I've just tried to impress and work hard and thankfully I've impressed the gaffer," Boden told the club's official website. "I've got two more years and still have the same ambitions to get into the first team week in, week out and play regular football. "I'll continue to work hard and hopefully kick on and stay in the team." Owls boss Brian Laws paid tribute to the 20-year-old, who can play in an attacking midfield role or as a striker. Laws said: "Luke is a talented young player who has made excellent progress over the last 12 months. He is a very professional individual and a credit to Sheffield Wednesday who fully deserves this new contract." Meanwhile, Boden's fellow youngster Arron Jameson is also staying at Hillsborough after the goalkeeper signed a one-year contract.
