Blackpool full-back had feared for future at club

Blackpool full-back Danny Coid admits he is 'absolutely thrilled' to have signed a new contract at Bloomfield Road. Skysports.com revealed earlier in the week that Coid had agreed an extension to his deal, which was due to expire at the end of the month. He has now signed a two-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months, and is happy to be staying with the Championship club. "I am absolutely thrilled to bits to be staying at the club for at least another two years," Coid told the club's official website. "The length of the contract is longer than I thought I would get, but negotiations with the chairman and new manager went well and I am made up to be staying here." Coid, who has spent his entire career with the Seasiders, revealed he briefly feared for his future at the club after Ian Holloway replaced Tony Parkes as manager. The 27-year-old added: "When Tony was here, he said that if he was still the manager then he would want me here. "Then he left and I did have a doubt about whether the new manager would come in, but Ian Holloway has come in and he has spoke to me a couple of times and I felt like I was still wanted and that it is what I wanted to feel."
