Doncaster chairman John Ryan has dismissed reports claiming Nottingham Forest have made a fresh approach for Matt Mills.
The Reds have been tracking the centre-half for some time and were rumoured to have upped their offer to around £2.5million.
It was claimed that Forest had made it clear that they were unwilling to pay any more for the former Manchester City man and would turn their attention elsewhere should their approach prove unsuccessful.
However, Ryan insists no such bid has been lodged and claims he does not expect any Rovers player to be heading to a Championship rival this summer.
"The one about Matt Mills is complete nonsense because there has been no contact at all with Nottingham Forest," he told the Doncaster Free Press.
"If a bid had been made for any of our players I would expect to be informed.
"But the manager knows nothing about it and neither do I.
"Besides, if any of our players were to leave, I would expect them to go to Premier League clubs and not teams in the same division."
Ryan also maintains that no offers have been received for any other players, while he has made it clear that manager Sean O'Driscoll will bide his time in the pursuit of new recruits.
He added: "Despite what you may have read or heard elsewhere that's the truth of the matter.
"It's the football silly season at this time of year and hardly a week goes by without players being linked to other clubs without any evidence to back it up.
"It's also true to say that we have made no inquiries ourselves about trying to sign anybody apart from Neil Kilkenny at Leeds."
