Summer signing Robbie Neilson has set his sights on helping Leicester regain their place in the Premier League.
The former Hearts captain moved to the Walkers Stadium after 13 years at Tynecastle as he went in search of a new challenge.
Nigel Pearson's side are back in the Championship having romped to the League One title last term in their first-ever season in the third-tier of English football.
And experienced midfielder Neilson believes they have the talent and infrastructure to mount a push for a second successive promotion, having slipped out of the top-flight in 2004.
"This is definitely a big enough club. It is going to be a difficult season, a lot of tough games and big teams, but hopefully we have the squad to do something," he told the
Daily Record.
Great history
"When Leicester were in the Premiership they had a lot of press in Scotland but when they went down to the Championship and then League One they went off the radar a bit in the Scottish media.
"There have been a lot of Scottish players at Leicester over the years and a lot of Scots still keep an eye on them. It's a club with a great history and hopefully I can bring them up again.
"I came down knowing the club could make the step up. It wasn't so long ago they were in the top flight and everything here is Premier League standard so it's just a case of getting back up there.
"I think I made the right decision leaving Hearts. I played a lot of first-team games over the last decade and felt I needed a change.
"I left on good terms, we had qualified for the Europa League and the team played well towards the end of last season."
