West Brom have bolstered their strike-force after completing a deal for Swindon Town hot-shot Simon Cox.
New Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo has spent an initial £1.5million in acquiring Cox, who scored an impressive 32 goals last season.
The 22-year-old striker has signed a two-year contract with a further two-year option after passing a routine medical.
Swindon could receive a further £400,000 from the deal for the promising striker in performance-related add-ons.
Cox began his career with Reading before undertaking loan spells with Brentford and Northampton before joining Swindon.
Di Matteo revealed West Brom beat off interest from Premier League clubs to sign Cox.
And the former Chelsea star is confident the striker can make a big impact in the Coca-Cola Championship with Albion.
He said: "Simon is an exciting, young talent with bags of ambition, hunger and determination.
"He has a very good goalscoring record and I think he will be a great asset for our team next season.
"I've seen him many times and he has the ability to do well in the Championship.
"He had a lot of interest from other clubs, including one or two Premier League clubs, and we are very happy that he has signed for us."
