Kari Arnason has been awarded a full-time contract at Plymouth Argyle after impressing during a recent trial.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who was released by Danish outfit AGF Aarhus this summer, passed a medical on Monday and has put pen to paper on a one-year contract.
The Iceland international admits he is fulfilling a dream by securing a move to England and he is determined to make an impact at Home Park.
"To get to England has always been my goal," he told the club's official website.
"That's what I told my agent my objective was. He found out about the trial game."
Arnason was deployed as a holding midfielder as he caught the eye in a practice game against Truro City last week, but claims to be more effective when given the freedom to get forward.
"In Sweden (where he took in a spell at Djurgardens), I played a different role - it was more box-to-box," he added.
"Then, in Denmark, the coach used me as a sitting midfielder, so I have been doing that for two years now.
"But it is not like I am stuck as a sitting midfielder. I would like to get into the box and head a few goals in, to be honest."
