Pearson warns Leeds off January bid for winger

Leicester City have warned Leeds off the possibility of bidding for Max Gradel in January by stating he is not for sale. The skilful winger, who has just turned 22, has made a big impression off the bench during his loan spell at Elland Road. Although Gradel has predominantly featured as a substitute, he has already scooped three man-of-the-match awards. It had been mooted Leeds could try and secure his services permanently in January, something Leicester boss Nigel Pearson is against. Pearson only loaned out the winger in a bid to boost match fitness and insists his long-term future remains at The Walkers Stadium.

Not for sale

"He's not for sale - it's as simple as that," Pearson told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "Max is a player who has had limited opportunities here this season and that's why he is on loan. "It gives him an opportunity to be playing games, which is important to us, while it's difficult for him to get in our side."
