Derby are in the advanced stages of talks with midfielder Stephen Pearson over a new contract.
The 27-year-old Scot's current deal is due to expire in the summer and Rams boss Nigel Clough has revealed that an agreement is close.
Clough is hopeful that a settlement will soon be reached, with only 'little details' to be sorted, but there are concerns regarding Person's injury record.
"We are quite a long way down the road with Stephen but there are just a couple of little details to sort out," said Clough.
"We are a little bit concerned about his injury record and Stephen understands that."
