Owls skipper views Doncaster as perfect trip to ease pressure

Sheffield Wednesday captain James O'Connor is determined to take the pressure off manager Brian Laws with a win at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday. Rumours regarding the security of the Owls boss' job have increased after Saturday's defeat to Reading plunged the club further towards the Championship drop zone. The Hillsborough loss ensured Wednesday have not won in seven matches but O'Connor is determined to help Laws, who has confessed he is feeling the heat. Wednesday travel to Yorkshire rivals Doncaster in midweek and their skipper believes that is the ideal fixture. He said in the Daily Mirror: "At the end of the day it's not the manager playing out there, it's us. It's up to the players and it's time for us to stand up and deliver. "From my point of view you couldn't ask for a better game on Tuesday night. Its a derby and hopefully we can go and give a better account of ourselves."
