O'Kelly unsure over Heffernan's future
Teenage midfielder Jordon Mutch has extended his loan deal at Doncaster from Birmingham by an additional month.
The 18-year-old made 11 appearances during his initial spell with Rovers, although his only start came in the home game against Leicester.
Mutch, who enjoyed a loan spell with Hereford earlier this season, will be hoping to help guide Sean O'Driscoll's men into the Championship play-offs.
Heffernan
Meanwhile, striker Paul Heffernan, who is currently on loan with Bristol Rovers, could be set for a summer move away from the South Yorkshire club.
The forward has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth at the Keepmoat Stadium this season and has gone on loan twice in search of regular football.
However, Rovers assistant manager Richard O'Kelly told
skysports.com that he is not sure whether the former Notts County striker will be at the club next season.
He said: "Paul Heffernan is thoroughly enjoying himself while getting some games on loan at Bristol Rovers.
"Heff is a player that wants to play regularly, like any player does, and he gets better the more games he plays. Unfortunately he was just a squad player here and to get the best out of him was to get him out on loan for some games.
"Football is a funny old game and it changes so quickly, so no-one really knows where Heff will be next season."
Unbelievable
Doncaster still have a chance of making the play-offs this season as they sit just six points off the pace and O'Kelly feels it would be a remarkable achievement if they managed to sneak into the top six.
He added: "It would certainly be my greatest achievement as a coach to get this club in the play-offs.
"When you look at the sides that are in there and the amount of money that they have spent, it casts a shadow over us. We try to run this club in a sensible manner, moving the club forward without spending great amounts of money.
"We've brought a fitness coach and analyst in which have helped us develop on those fronts, so we are doing the best that we can to progress on the budget that we have been given.
"To get into the top six come the end of the season would be unbelievable."
