Preston winger Paul Parry does not want to undergo surgery despite seeing his season wrecked by a long-standing knee problem.
Parry joined North End from Cardiff last summer but he has not played since December due to the ongoing tendinitis in his knee.
He will not feature again this term but said he was desperate to avoid an operation on the complaint, which has affected him for several years.
Parry, 29, told the club's official website: "I've had it for four or five years really and haven't had any great things done on it.
"I've spoken to a few players who have had the problem and they've had surgery on it and it's been a six to eight month process.
"I'm approaching 30 this year so it's something I don't really want to do. If I can get through my rehab programme and get myself right for the start of next season I'll be happy with that."
