Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers hopes to have signed two new players in the next 48 hours, with West Ham striker Frank Nouble expected to be one of the arrivals.
The Liberty Stadium boss is eager to increase the attacking threat of his squad and has targeted a forward and a goalscoring midfielder.
Nouble is thought to be likely to arrive on loan, with Rodgers having worked with the 18-year-old during their time at Chelsea.
And the former Reading chief, who is preparing for Saturday's trip to Norwich in the Championship, wants to complete two deals over the weekend.
Rodgers told the Western Mail: "It's on-going, but I hope over the next couple of days we can bring in a couple more players.
"One will be a striker and one another type for us who can add goals. And then we'll ramp it up in the next few weeks to get the type of striker we want.
"But we will look to bring someone in the next 24 to 48 hours who can play high up the field and then another exciting talent to get us goals from the midfield areas."
Rodgers has not directly named Nouble as one of the players he hopes to sign, but he has revealed that he is in talks with the England Under 19 international.
"Frank's one that I worked with at Chelsea and he's an excellent prospect for the future," he said.
"He's got a lot of potential. He's 6ft 3in, he's quick, he's strong and I think he can score goals at this level so he's one that we're in discussion with and we'll see where it goes."
