Baraclough keeping a watching brief on winger's Oldham situation

Scunthorpe United manager Ian Baraclough has confirmed he retains an interest in signing Oldham Athletic winger Chris Taylor. Baraclough tried to bring Taylor to Glanford Park during the January transfer window only for the player to say he turned down the opportunity as he is happy at Oldham. However, the Latics' inability to pay their players last week has prompted suggestions that Baraclough could make a renewed bid to sign Taylor on loan. "You just don't go off a player and we put in a very, very good offer then," said Baraclough. "I suppose people will put two and two together that they [Oldham] couldn't pay their players last week. But it doesn't mean they want to let him go." He added: "Unless I'm told differently he remains an Oldham player and they want to keep him because they're still in or around the play-offs."
