Grayson - Bessone in the frame

Simon Grayson says Federico Bessone's Leeds United may not yet be over if he impresses in pre-season this summer.

Whites boss says chance is there for forgotten man

Simon Grayson says Federico Bessone's time at Leeds United may not yet be over if he impresses in pre-season this summer. The full-back joined from Swansea City last year, but he struggled early on and was eventually loaned to Charlton. Bessone is now back at Leeds and with the likes of George McCartney and Eric Lichaj returning to their parent clubs there is an opening at left-back. Grayson only has Bessone and fit-again Ben Parker vying for the role and he is crossing his fingers the Argentine can recapture his best form. "We're short in that department," Grayson told the Yorkshire Evening Post on his left-back options. "If (Bessone) starts well in pre-season and looks like the player we thought we had signed last year then he has an opportunity."
