Wales international revelling in new role at Bloomfield Road

Neil Eardley has put an end to the uncertainty surrounding his future by signing a one-year contract extension at Blackpool. The 22-year-old is one of the few players to have remained with the Seasiders following their one-term sojourn in the Premier League. Eardley normally plays at right-back but has shown his versatility by playing in an unfamiliar midfield role this term as Ian Holloway reshapes his team. "I'm really pleased to have signed for another year and get the contract extension sorted," he told the club's official website. "We've been talking about it for a while and ideally it would have been sorted over the summer but I can't say that it's been a distraction. "Position-wise I don't know where I'm going to end up, as long as I'm playing I'm happy but I've really enjoyed playing in midfield."
