Defender very happy with move to Oakwell

Barnsley loan signing Lee Collins has admitted he is 'in awe' of moving to the Championship club from Port Vale. The 23-year-old, who had made 20 appearances for the administration-hit League Two outfit this season has signed on loan at Oakwell until the end of the season. And the versatile defender, who will be hoping to make the move permanent in the summer, is hoping to impress manager Keith Hill. He told Barnsley's official website: "I'm in awe. It's a massive ground, a club with good history and it's a real step up for me. I am very happy. "A lot of young lads aspire to be in the Championship and I am no different. "The standard in training is very good and there are a lot of really good players in the squad so it will take a few days to adjust.

Prepared

"The lads have been brilliant and have made me very welcome which has made it easier. "I've played with Matt Done and Rob Edwards before so it's nice to see some familiar faces. "My priority here will be to help clean sheets for the club. I'm mentally and physically prepared and ready to get going here. "There are a lot of brilliant teams in this league. Providing everything goes to plan I hope that I will be here for a long time."
