Former Rangers youngster signs three-year contract at Hillsborough
Sheffield Wednesday have continued their summer recruitment drive by agreeing a three-year contract with former Rangers youngster Rhys McCabe.
The Scotland Under 21 international was one of a clutch of players to reject the transfer of his contract to the newco Rangers last month.
He was linked with a move to troubled League One club Portsmouth, but has now opted for a deal with Championship newcomers Wednesday.
The 20-year-old has accepted a contract until 2015 and will finalise a move to Hillsborough subject to international clearance.
The attacking midfielder made nine appearances for Rangers in the latter stages of last season after making his senior debut against Hearts in March.
McCabe becomes the latest signing for Owls boss Dave Jones, who has already added the likes of Chris Kirkland and Chris Maguire to his squad since the end of last season.
