Pope, who joined Charlton from non-league outfit Bury Town in the summer of 2011, is highly regarded within the corridors of power at the Championship club.
The 21-year-old is currently in the final year of his contract and Charlton are keen to reward his progress with a new three-year deal.
Pope is currently third-choice keeper in Chris Powell's first-team plans behind Ben Hamer and Ben Alnick, but is tipped for a big future at Charlton.
The former Ipswich trainee has impressed during loan spells at Harrow Borough, Welling United and Cambridge United over the last couple of years and he made his first-team debut as a substitute in last season's win over Bristol City.
