Transfer news: Wigan working on bringing in a few more fresh faces

Wigan Athletic are hoping to welcome 'another couple of players' into their ranks before the start of the 2014/15 campaign.
It has already been a productive summer for Uwe Rosler, with the likes of James Tavernier, Andrew Taylor and Don Cowie drafted in to the DW Stadium.
There is, however, a feeling that further reinforcements are required if Wigan are to better last season’s appearance in the Sky Bet Championship play-off semi-finals.
Work is therefore being carried out on the identification and pursuit of necessary additions.
Assistant manager Graham Barrow said in the Wigan Evening Post: “Hopefully we can get in another couple of players that we all know we need.
“If we could do that before we come home from Germany, that would be fantastic.”
While still looking to add, Wigan are delighted with the impact being made by their recent recruits.
Tavernier has arrived from Newcastle United with a billing as a potential star of the future, and the promising full-back has already made his mark.
Barrow added: “To be fair to the lad, from the very first training session he’s shown his quality, which is fantastic - top drawer.
“Any centre-forward at the football club should relish seeing his name on the team sheet, because they know there’s plenty of goals there to be had.
“At this club we’ve not only got some good players but really good people, good characters, and James certainly falls into that category.
“The gaffer is very big on team spirit, and James is only going to add to that.”
