Scunthorpe's professional development coach Paul Harsley is to leave for Birmingham next month, the League One club have announced.

Scunthorpe's professional development coach Paul Harsley is to leave for Birmingham next month, the League One club have announced.

Harsley played for Scunthorpe between 1997 and 2001 and returned on the coaching staff in 2011, working with the club's academy players.

A statement on the Iron's website read: "Paul Harsley will be leaving the club towards the end of September to take up a new role at Birmingham City."

Academy manager Tony Daws added: "I would like to thank Paul for all his efforts while at the club, he has been a fantastic asset to the academy, and we wish him well for the future."
