Ipswich winger Ryan Fraser has been named the Sky Bet Football League’s Young Player of the Month for August.

Fraser is on loan at Ipswich from AFC Bournemouth and was in eye-catching form during the opening month of the season with three goals netted in six appearances.

The 21-year-old former Aberdeen player was delighted with the award: "It feels really good. It's obviously an honour to get it and with the start the team and I have had, I'm keen to get some more now. Hopefully I can keep up my performances and just push on from here."

Presenting the award to Fraser, Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy added: "I was delighted to see Ryan pick up The Football League Young Player of the Month award for August and he fully deserves it.

"He's an infectious character on and off the pitch, he loves taking defenders on, he can go either way and he's already shown that he has a goal in him. He's just a really talented footballer and we are delighted to have him here."
