David Davis has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with Birmingham City.
The midfielder's current deal ran out in the summer, alerting clubs to his possible availability, with Queens Park Rangers and Fulham both understood to be interested in signing him.
But Davis has now committed his future to Gianfranco Zola’s side as they look to recover from a poor run of form to reignite their push for the play-offs.
Davis has played 107 times for the Blues since moving to St Andrew’s from their west Midlands rivals Wolves in August 2014.
The positive news on Davis comes just two days after one of their former players - centre-back Craig Gardner - agreed to join on loan from West Brom for the rest of the season, with a view to a permanent move over the summer.
Birmingham are also understood to be closing on a deal to sign Rene Krhin from La Liga side Granada.
