The Irish international was asked not to train with the rest of the squad, after arriving back from Japan and Korea, therefore impeding the star's attempts to retain match fitness before moving to The Blues.
Morrison finally completed his move to the Premiership outfit last week for £4.5 million, but is now doubtful to be fully fit for their season opener against Arsenal on August 18.
"I thought it was well out of order to be honest," said an unhappy Morrison. "The manager and chairman told me they thought it would be best if I stayed away from the club while the transfer was being sorted out.
"I found that Palace had suddenly put me on 'gardening leave' so, instead of training with them and playing in pre-season matches, I was working out in the gymnasium on my own.
"What it meant was that I was losing a bit of pre-season fitness which I'm now having to build-up again at Birmingham," concluded Morrison.
