Steve Bruce admits Birmingham City fans should be excited by the planned summer spending at St Andrews.
The former Manchester United defender has kept Blues in the top ten of the table and is bidding to bolster his squad with some attractive captures when the transfer window reopens.
"We've identified the people we want to get," he told Sky Sports News.
"I said six weeks ago, if I was a Birmingham fan, I'd be excited by what we are to trying to do.
"Now we've got to try and deliver. We don't want to promise things that aren't going to materialise.
"We are doing our utmost that we're going to bring in some quality players and we're very, very close to a few things."
Meanwhile, Bryan Hughes has spoken about his decision to reject a new contract offer with the Midlanders.
"Some people seem to think this is about money," said the goalscoring midfielder. "But it's not.
"The club did offer me a good contract.
"I just feel that, at my age, I need to play regularly."
