David Dunn hopes to return from injury to play against Liverpool on September 24.
Birmingham midfielder David Dunn has targeted the clash with Liverpool at St Andrews on September 24 to make his long-awaited comeback from injury.
Dunn has not featured for Blues since Boxing Day and had to undergo back surgery in February in the hope of clearing up a persistent hamstring problem.
The 25-year-old said: "I feel fine and it is just a case of waiting for the surgeon to say I can play again."
Dunn was unable to participate in pre-season training and manager Steve Bruce will hope that the surgeon will give the go-ahead for the former Blackburn Rovers trainee to resume light training.
Great Harwood born Dunn has made only 29 league starts for Birmingham after signing from Blackburn in July 2003.
