Morrison realises he is unlikely to start for The Blues this season with Mikael Forssell, Emile Heskey and Walter Pandiani all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Now the Irish international looks set to leave with Norwich agreeing a fee for his services - although a host of other sides are also said to be interested.
Bruce is not happy Morrison is leaving, but realises he cannot stand in his way.
"As we speak now we've had two, three, four Championship clubs trying to get after Clinton," Bruce told Sky Sports News.
"Now we have agreed a fee with Norwich and we believe he is on his way there, the rest is up to Clinton.
"He has got a year left on his contract and as a business you have to protect the club and with a year left his value depreciates immensely.
"I saw him on Sky and his frustration about not playing were clear and I understand that totally.
"Make no mistake Clinton has been a big part for us and we will miss him if goes because of his bubbly character - there is never a dull moment and I have enjoyed working with the lad over the past five years."
While Norwich are leading the chase for Morrison Crystal Palace, Cardiff and Southampton are also keen to land his services.
"I would like to bring Clinton Morrison here if possible," confirmed Saints boss Harry Redknapp to Sky Sports News.
"But there is a bit of competition now so we have to wait and see."
