Birmingham boss Steve Bruce has been handed a double boost on the injury front.Birmingham boss Steve Bruce has been handed a double boost on the injury front.
Striker Emile Heskey's knee complaint is thought to be only minor, while midfielder David Dunn has been given the green light to resume full training.
England international Heskey limped out of the 1-0 home defeat to Charlton, amid fears he had suffered serious damage to the joint.
However, a scan has shown no damage to the ligaments and he is in contention for the weekend clash with Portsmouth.
"The scan showed nothing conclusive and Emile is 50-50 for Portsmouth," said Bruce. "He is still a bit sore and we have to be careful with him."
Dunn, meanwhile, is looking to kick-start his career after being given the all-clear to return to training following back surgery.
The midfielder underwent revolutionary surgery in a bid to overcome the persistent problems and is desperate to kick-start Birmingham's season.
"I can't even begin to describe what it's been like, but I'm just raring to go," stated Dunn.
