Paul Scharner is far from convinced about a purported move to Birmingham.Birmingham target Paul Scharner admits he is far from convinced about a purported move to the Midlands.
The Austria international, who can operate at centre-half or in midfield, is thought to be a £2 million target for Steve Bruce.
Scharner, who looks likely to quit Norwegian outfit Brann when the January transfer window opens, is willing to talk to Birmingham but appears to need convincing about the merits of a permanent switch to St Andrews.
"I understand that Birmingham liked what they saw and that there should be a conversation in the near future,'' said Scharner.
''Birmingham would not be my favourite club but if they want to talk then I would listen to them and it might happen.
"Steve Bruce is a fantastic manager but I am not sure that the team will do very well in the league this season so, at this stage of my career, Birmingham might not be the right choice for me."
