Doncaster Rovers have signed Birmingham's Sam Oji on a six-week loan deal.
Doncaster Rovers have signed Birmingham City defender Sam Oji on a six-week loan deal.
The 20-year-old defender has yet to make an impact at St Andrews after serving his apprenticeship with Arsenal.
Described as a powerful centre half, Oji could make his Rovers debut against Bristol City on Saturday.
News that Tim Ryan will be ruled out for an indefinite period has prompted Rovers boss Dave Penney (pictured) to make a move for the Blues man prior to Thursday's loan deal deadline.
And Donny's exploits in the Carling Cup will provide Oji with an opportunity to win a place in the hearts of Blues fans if he is able to inspire the South Yorkshiremen to a victory over Aston Villa.
Penney will also be looking for some goalkeeping cover after Barry Richardson broke his leg in Tuesday's LDV Vans Trophy defeat at Nationwide Conference club Cambridge United.
Richardson, who is also the club's goalkeeping coach, is expected to miss the rest of the season with the injury.
