David Dunn has urged his Birmingham team-mates for more of the same.David Dunn is hopeful that Saturday's demolition of Portsmouth can kick-start Birmingham's season.
The campaign thus far has been equally disappointing for both Dunn and Birmingham but at the weekend, both enjoyed success against a Pompey side soundly beaten 5-0.
Dunn came off the bench to score Birmingham's fifth goal and having made a vast improvement in their performance levels, the talented schemer is urging more of the same.
''I think on Saturday we maybe got the rub of the green whereas in other weeks we haven't,'' Dunn told Sky Sports News.
''That just goes to show if you knock the goals in then you get a bit of luck.
''Having said that they could have had two goals at the start and if they'd scored them it would have been back to the same old story.
''But the gaffer and the lads are pretty pleased with how things went. However, let's not forget we've still got a long way to go to get us out of this mess.
''Certainly that's what we'll be trying to do over the next couple of weeks.
''It doesn't need to be said that everyone is aware of the situation we are in. Let's hope we can push on and let's hope this is the turning point.''
