As skysports.com exclusively revealed, Birmingham have signed DJ Campbell.
As skysports.com exclusively revealed earlier on Tuesday, Birmingham have clinched the surprise signing of Dudley Campbell.
Campbell shot to prominence after scoring the goals that knocked Sunderland out of the FA Cup on Saturday and he has now secured a dream move to The Premiership by agreeing a three-and-a-half-year contract with Blues.
Campbell moves to St Andrews after Steve Bruce's side agreed an initial fee of £500,000 with League One Brentford.
The deal may rise to £1 million dependent on appearances and Bees boss Martin Allen can at least console himself with the significant cash windfall.
Bruce revealed that Campbell's cup exploits had little bearing on his decision to sign the 24-year-old and admitted to having held a long-term interest in the player.
"It is a situation we have been watching for a few weeks now," said Bruce. "We didn't want him to do what he did against Sunderland on Saturday, that's for sure. It reminded everyone that he is a good player!
"He is someone who is quick, direct and young. He is a bit raw but he has a good eye for goal and is an exciting player."
