Kilkenny fears for Blues future

Neil Kilkenny fears he will have to quit Birmingham City in the summer.

Neil Kilkenny fears he will have to quit Birmingham City in the summer in search of first-team football.

The midfielder has not started a Championship game for the club this season and has not featured in the league in 2007.

He is currently in Australia with the Olympic squad and the 21-year-old is considering whether he has a long-term future with Birmingham.

Disappointed by his lack of opportunities under Steve Bruce this season, Kilkenny admits he may have to move on come the summer.

"I was playing regularly in the Premiership last year and it has been hard to take what has happened," Kilkenny told the Australian media.

"We've been winning games and I have had limited chances. I've been on the bench quite regularly, but it's not the same as playing games.

"I have been trying to keep positive, but I feel I have come to an age where I should be playing regular first-team football.

"I have to look at my future and I'll weigh up the situation in the summer."
