Birmingham beat FC Schweinfurt 05 5-2, as Rob Earnshaw scored his first goal for Derby.Mikael Forssell continued his sparkling pre-season form with a double in Birmingham City's 5-2 win over FC Schweinfurt 05.
Blues concluded their tour of Germany with the emphatic success, with Forssell opening the scoring on 10 minutes by heading home Sebastian Larsson's free-kick.
It was quickly 2-0 as Cameron Jerome, who went on to score twice, laid on a simple chance for Gary McSheffrey to convert.
Mark Leissing's volley put Schweinfurt back in the game before Forssell notched his second of the night from the penalty spot on 34 minutes.
The Finnish striker, who is aiming to prove he merits a spot in Steve Bruce's long-term plans, was fouled by Erkan Essen and got up to tuck away his penalty.
Jerome got his first of the game just before half-time when he was perfectly positioned to head in new signing Olivier Kapo's cross.
Early into the second half, Jerome emulated Forssell's brace with a surging run and crisp finish before Mikael Kraus notched a consolation.
Meanwhile, fellow top-flight newcomers Derby sent out teams to face Macclesfield and Burton with contrasting results.
A Danny Thomas goal after just four minutes secured Macclesfield a 1-0 win over a Derby side containing trialists Yannis Okkas and Dusan Svento.
At Burton, The Rams enjoyed a 3-0 victory, with Salomon Olembe and Giorgios Theodoridis the trialists on show.
Theodoridis did his case for a deal no harm when he scored the opener on 28 minutes when converting the rebound after Steve Howard's header came back off the bar.
Robert Earnshaw scored his first goal in a Derby shirt on 35 minutes when he headed home and Howard added the third a minute after half-time with a clever lob.
