Blues defender says distractions are not a distraction

Birmingham City defender Franck Queudrue says off-the-field distractions at St Andrews are not affecting the squad.

Steve Bruce's future as manager remains uncertain after the club's prospective owner Carson Yeung cancelled contract talks.

Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City was Blues' sixth league defeat of the season, however, Queudrue says the club are staying professional.

"There is a lot of talking outside the pitch," he told the Birmingham Mail. "When we are on the pitch we are professional enough and big enough to put that on the side.

"Like the gaffer. He had his tactics. He had his team and it nearly worked on Saturday.

"We were very focused. I heard in the press that he was contacted by Bolton but that was refused, so that's all done."

Meanwhile, Blues midfielder Fabrice Muamba is staying positive and believes results will come if the squad maintains their work ethic.

Muamba stated: "I have no doubt that with the players we have, if we carry on like this, and we keep working hard for one another, we will be okay and things will be all right.

"The boys are looking very strong. The togetherness in the dressing room is very strong too, stronger than last year."
