James McFadden has vowed Birmingham City will 'come back fighting' following their derby day humiliation.
Blues had slipped into the relegation zone prior to Sunday's game against Aston Villa, but blew the chance to move back out of the bottom three in spectacular style.
Villa cruised to a 5-1 home win and McFadden is expecting to see a positive response from Birmingham in this weekend's game with Liverpool at St Andrews.
"It was a bad result, we have to put it to the back of our minds now and get on," McFadden told the Birmingham Mail.
"We know it's difficult, but it's difficult for everyone else too.
"We are not a bad team. We will come back fighting.
"We have got to give it our all. We have to have a positive outlook in the next games and show the fans that we have got fight left, and try and make up for this Villa defeat.
"We have to show them that we are hurting, which we are. We're shell shocked, but we need to make sure we come back strongly and stay in the league."
