Former Spurs youngster signs two-year deal

Burton Albion have fended off interest from Hereford United to sign Jacques Maghoma on a two-year contract. Maghoma had been a free agent after being released by Tottenham Hotspur and had recently trained with both Burton and Hereford. The midfielder featured in Burton's friendly with Derby County last Saturday and played for Hereford against Bristol City on Monday night. He has now secured a deal with Burton and follows Guy Branston in agreeing a move to the Football League new boys. Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido had previously feared that the club would be unable to meet Maghoma's wage demands following his departure from Spurs. However, Peschisolido has persuaded the 21-year-old to accept the chance of securing regular first-team football in League Two with Burton.
