Peschisolido delighted by midfielder's U-turn

Burton midfielder Jacques Maghoma has performed a shock U-turn and is ready to put pen to paper on a new deal at the Pirelli Stadium. Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido had expected to be without the services of the talented 23-year-old for next season with a move abroad set to be on the cards. But the former Tottenham player has now let Burton know that he intends to extend his stay with the League Two outfit. "I'm delighted Jacques has given a very strong indication he wants to stay because I honestly thought he was a goner," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail.

Exciting player

"It's been so long since I made my offer to Jacques that I had pretty much left him out of my plans. "It's great that he now seems to have made up his mind about staying at Burton - it's almost like making a new signing. "He's an exciting player who has made great progress in his two years with us, and I think he has massive potential to get even better. "Replacing a quality player like Jacques would not have been easy, and I'm just hoping that we can finalise everything quickly and get him signed so he can concentrate on preparing for next season."
