Swindon claim to have received no bids for Ritchie and Caddis

Swindon have rubbished reports claiming the club have received a double offer from Ipswich for Matt Ritchie and Paul Caddis. Town boss Paul Jewell sparked the rumours on Saturday when announcing that he had bids in for three players at two clubs. It was suggested that Ritchie and Caddis, two of the Robins' standout performers this season, were among those to have caught his eye. The League Two outfit have, however, sought to distance themselves from the reports by insisting that no approaches have been made for any of their players. Interim chairman Jeremy Wray told the Swindon Advertiser: "There have been no bids for any of our players."

Fantastic

Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio is reluctant to see anyone leave with the club pushing hard for promotion and he has called on Ritchie to remain fully focused on his duties at the County Ground. "I told him to forget about going somewhere, we want to keep him and bring in other players," said the Italian. "We want to win the league and he is one of the main parts of this team. "He was fantastic at Rotherham and thanks to him. He did his part and he is a fantastic professional and hopefully he can keep going until the end of the season."
