Victor Valdes - Goalkeeper
Valdes has left Manchester United having made just two Premier League appearances since joining the club in October 2014.
Aged 34, he remains an intriguing option and boasts one of the finest CVs at his position - six La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys, three Champions Leagues, a European Championship and a World Cup.
His move to Old Trafford may have been a disaster but, if reports are to be believed, Valdes could be set to stay in Manchester with Pep Guardiola keen for the Spaniard to challenge Joe Hart.
Gregory van der Wiel - Right back
The former PSG defender made 17 Ligue 1 appearances in another title-winning season for the Parisians, but Serge Aurier and Marquinhos were often preferred in his favoured right-back position.
He didn't see eye-to-eye with former boss Laurent Blanc but looks set to leave despite the manager's departure, with Turkish club Fenerbahce and Serie A side AS Roma thought to be two contenders for his signature.
Roman Neustadter - Centre back
He sorted his international future shortly before Euro 2016, claiming Russian nationality and featuring in the 1-1 draw against England, but things are less clear for Neustadter at club level.
The 28-year-old is out of contract at Schalke, but his ability to play in central defence or midfield should mean he has plenty of suitors this summer.
Martin Caceres - Centre back
The Uruguay international ended his second spell at Juventus on Thursday, departing as one of only eight players to have featured in all five of their consecutive Serie A titles.
Injuries suffered in October and February limited the defender to just 449 minutes of football last season, but at 29 years old he could represent a worthwhile gamble.
Jose Enrique - Left back
The writing has been on the wall for some time at Liverpool, and in May Enrique was given permission to talk to other teams.
So far that has not resulted in a new club, but the Valencia-born left-back has nine years of Premier League experience.
Andrija Zivkovic - Midfield
Heavily linked with Benfica, the 19-year-old is one of the most coveted free agents on the market having helped Serbia Under-20s to the World Cup final last summer, where they beat Brazil.
The winger is already a senior Serbia international and in 2014 became the youngest captain in FK Partizan's history, leading to the nickname, the 'Serbian Messi'.
Mathieu Flamini - Midfield
Flamini saw his role in the Arsenal team marginalised following the emergence of Francis Coquelin last season.
The summer signing of Granit Xhaka all but ushered the Frenchman out the door, ending his second spell at the club.
Sandro Ramirez - Midfield
Poor Sandro Ramirez, largely played out of position for Barcelona and now played out of position in this XI too.
Barca have allowed the La Masia product, who made 19 appearances for the club in all competitions last season, to depart this summer after he was deemed surplus to requirements.
He's reportedly a wanted man, with Tottenham and West Ham both linked to the Spain Under-21 international.
Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Terry Gibson said of Ramirez in January: "He is a strong, fast and direct forward who has shown an eye for goal, despite most of his appearances coming in a wide attacking position."
Fernando Torres - Striker
Torres is officially a free agent following the expiration of his AC Milan deal, but is widely expected to agree a contract with Atletico Madrid, the club where he has spent the last 18 months on loan.
A return of two goals before Christmas led to speculation Atleti would not pursue their interest this summer, but a run of 10 goals and three assists from February has convinced the Champions League runners-up to tie him down.
The agreement is "pending a few small details", according to Atleti president Enrique Cerezo.
Dimitar Berbatov - Striker
The 35-year-old former Manchester United striker has been around the block since leaving Old Trafford four years ago, playing for Fulham, AS Monaco and most recently PAOK in Greece.
It didn't end well at PAOK, as Berbatov played 90 minutes just once after a controversial red card against AEK Athens in January. On the bright side, it should mean he is fresh for whichever club signs him next.
Emmanuel Adebayor - Striker
The former Arsenal and Tottenham striker was handed a six-month deal by Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew in January, but the Eagles have decided to move on.
He made 12 league appearances but scored just one goal, and the 32-year-old is now looking for his eighth professional club.
