Hull boss Nigel Adkins will push his side to claim all three points in their vital clash with bottom club Sunderland on Saturday.

The Tigers are just one point and two places above the Sky Bet Championship drop zone, and three points ahead of the Black Cats as the two sides prepare to meet at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

"It is a big game for both clubs," said Adkins. "We need to go with a mindset that we are going to win every game of football.

"It is not the end of the world if we lose but, as I have highlighted to the players, you can't afford to let one training session go by or one game go by because points are up for grabs.

"You can't think 'oh, we will be alright next week', because we are at the wrong end of the table and we are in a relegation battle."

Sheffield United's poor run of form could cost them their spot in the top six if they lose at Norwich, who are 13th but just six points behind the Blades, while Leeds, in seventh, could capitalise as they welcome Millwall to Elland Road.

Middlesbrough and Brentford are among the clubs hoping to force their way further into play-off contention as Boro travel to QPR and the Bees make the short trip to Reading. Elsewhere, Aston Villa host Barnsley and Nottingham Forest head to runaway leaders Wolves.

Sheffield Wednesday host Cardiff live on Sky Sports Football on Saturday from 5.15pm.
