The former Chelsea star says that he wants a smaller squad of 22 players, and has already sat down and told the players who are not in his plans that they can leave the club.
Nicolas Bonnal, Dado Prso, Julien Rodriguez, Florin Raducioiu, Wagneau Eloi and Bruno Irles have all been told that they are not in Deschamps's plans, and are free to leave the Stade Louis II.
"It's true, those players are all on the market," said Bonnal's agent Fabrice Poulain. "I won't dare to judge their methods but most clubs have ended their transfer activity by now."
Bonnal had been linked with a move to Sunderland but the 24-year-old is now attracting the interest of Lyon, and he says that he was shocked when he was told the news.
"Didier Deschamps met me in his office and told me that I could look for a club because he didn't rely on me any more and wanted to find a new midfielder," said Bonnal.
"I asked him for some explanation and he just replied that he didn't know me - I really didn't understand."
Deschamps is disappointed that his side could only manage to win one point from their first two home games against newly-promoted sides Sochaux and Montpellier.
One player who could be arriving at Monaco is Toulouse striker Victor Bonilla, who has expressed his desire to join the club.
The Columbian international is desperate to leave the troubled side who are now languishing in the Third Division, and says that a transfer is looking likely.
"My agent and I know that Monaco are interested in me. I've already agreed to a transfer. Toulouse know all about it," said Bonilla.
Bonilla netted 15 goals last season and Deschamps could well do with that sort of firepower as he tries to rebuild the club after a poor season last term.
