The future of Rangers striker Steven Thompson is not a cut-and-dry affair. The agent of Rangers striker Steven Thompson has told skysports.com that his client is in no hurry to leave Ibrox despite being informed the club will listen to offers.
Thompson has been reduced to a peripheral role at the Glasgow giants this season but came off the bench at the weekend to great effect against Dundee United.
Interest in both Scotland and south of the border is thought to be strong, with the likes of Sunderland and Aberdeen credited with holding an interest.
Whilst conceding that his client may need to seek pastures new in order to find regular football, Thompson's agent, Darren Jackson, insists there is no desperation to leave the club.
''He's under contract until the end of the season and no-one has come in for him just now,'' Jackson told skysports.com.
''He came on on Saturday and changed the game - he had a hand in two goals and set one up.
''Steven knows it will be hard now because they've signed Kris Boyd and he's going to be involved and (Peter) Lovenkrands has been scoring too.
''So he knows it won't be easy but he's in no rush to leave Ibrox.
''We'll just have to wait and see who comes in for him and whether it interests him.''
