Terry Westley has revealed that Derby are keen to tie up a permanent deal for Andy Gray.
Derby manager Terry Westley has revealed that The Rams are keen to tie up a permanent deal for Sunderland striker Andy Gray.
Gray is out of favour at The Stadium of Light and was the subject of a bid from Burnley during the January transfer window.
A move to Turf Moor failed to materialise but it appears as though The Clarets' Championship rivals may be about to land the former Sheffield United man.
"The Andy Gray situation is very much a goer but it would be a long-term deal, not just a loan. But we're hopeful of securing him on loan until the end of the season and then making it permanent after that," said Westley.
"So it means we need to be concerned with medicals, speaking to his agent and talking personal terms with the boy."
Meanwhile, Nathan Doyle has left Pride Park to sign for League Two side Notts County on a one-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old midfielder goes straight into The Magpies' squad to face Lincoln at Sincil Bank on Saturday.
