Ross Wallace has vowed to repay Sunderland manager Roy Keane.
Ross Wallace has vowed to repay Sunderland manager Roy Keane for reigniting his fledgling career.
Wallace was one of a number of new additions to the Stadium of Light squad on transfer deadline day, but he has immediately settled into life on Wearside.
The Scotland Under-21 international, signed by Keane from the Irishman's former club Celtic, has been a regular for The Black Cats, whose return to form has mirrored that of the player's own recent revival.
"I have been fairly pleased with the way I have played since I moved here," said Wallace.
"But I am not going to get ahead of myself. I want to carry on playing and getting better.
"Hopefully the best is still to come from me here."
Wallace missed Sunderland's last game against Sheffield Wednesday after being sent off at Ipswich the previous week.
"That was the first time I have ever been red carded and I hope it will be the last," added Wallace. "We did well against Wednesday and that is the most important thing so now I have to try and get back in the team."
